Inside Voices founding members I.K. David and Paul Burghard met playing open mic nights in Washington. Connected by a mutual love of guitar-heavy, riff-driven Indie Rock and smooth R&B sounds, the two quickly crafted a repertoire of original music emulating their favorite styles.
Inside Voices’ music blends I.K.’s R&B-inspired chords, lush vocal harmonies, and melancholic lyricism with Paul’s energetic and grungy percussion. Last year, the band welcomed bassist Paul Wevers and lead guitarist Lew Calico who add to the music with groovy basslines and glistening guitar melodies. Since then, the Indie quartet has played several D.C.-area venues including Quarry House Tavern, the Pocket, and Pie Shop.
Inside Voices is preparing to release their first single, Such a Shame, which will be out on all major streaming platforms this Summer.

Out of the ashes of local pop band Index comes the nü group Static Spray. Joining the Leddy brothers (Graeme, vocals and guitar, and Nyle, guitar) in this new venture is local legend and multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Ben Melrod on drums and bedroom pop weirdo Sebastian Rodriguez on bass. The band blends their influences of local 90s hardcore and glazes it with indie-pop, while adding a hefty dollop of krautrock to make sure that the sound you hear is familiar but undeniably unique.
