  string(1715) "Alex Vaughn’s evocative R&B songs are written with richness, honesty, and a desire to always keep evolving. An unquenchable thirst for growth is what’s powered the Maryland singer/songwriter as she’s released songs like her February single “Mirage,” a hypnotizing reflection on a toxic situationship, her first release since signing with LVRN/Interscope in 2021. Since then, she’s continued to push herself. Her new project, The Hurtbook, seamlessly juxtaposes her classically trained musicianship with the raw expression she’s developed as she digs deep. Vaughn’s trajectory was always going to include music. As a toddler, she’d often sprint from the bathtub to her grandmother’s piano and around age five or six, her parents enrolled her in classical and jazz piano lessons. Still, her heart was set on R&B. In 2017, Vaughn began posting covers to Instagram and Twitter, which led to performances at notable venues such as The Kennedy Center and The Fillmore, and opening on national tours for K. Michelle and Eric Bellinger. During the pandemic, Vaughn joined LVRN’s Instagram Live talent show. She caught the label’s attention, and the following year, they formalized their belief in her. Now, with The Hurtbook, she’s using her platform to show her fans how far self-belief can go. “My fans will always know that I am a human being, so I’m scared just like you are,” she says. “I’m nervous like you are. I’m excited. I feel what you feel. I’m doing the best that I can with what I got.”

  string(1942) "Yeison Landero was born in San Jacinto (Bolivar), in the heart of the Montes de Maria of our Colombian Caribbean.He carries in his soul a cumbiambero heart inherited from his grandfather Andres Landero: Junglar recognized as the king of the cumbia to national and international level But from his grandfather he not only inherited the love for cumbia and the accordion, but also the talent to play his melodies. At the age of seven,Yeison becomes the most precious disciple of his grandfather Andres, and receives from his own hands all the feeling and humility of the Juglar Montemarian. He grew up in an environment surrounded by music, dances and serenades. From the earliest years, his house was visited by great Juglares who brightened up the parties with their unparalleled talents. Artists such as Alfredo Gutierrez, Lizandro Meza, Calixto Ochoa, Enrique Diaz, the composer and singer Adolfo Pacheco Anillo, Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, Abel Antonio Villa and countless bouquet of figures from Sabanero folklore with which Yeison hasnurtured his traditional style.

Cumbia Heights interprets musical styles and rhythms from all over Latin America, mixing them with modern influences of pop, soul and rock. From the slowed down “rebajada” cumbia of northern Mexico, passing through the Chilean style, and all the way to Cuban montuno. From the classic cumbia style of Colombia, to the psychedelia of Peru.  We honor the history of resistance that Cumbia represents and honor its black and indigenous roots and connect it with our immigrant experience.  With this fusion the band serves a rebel, mad sexy cumbia and grungy vibes. Paved Paradise announces the third edition of its traveling label expo, further reimagining the record store experience through a series of outdoor events and communal celebrations. From October 12th-23rd – featuring music, merch and more from Ghostly International, Numero Group, Secretly Group record labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar and Secretly Canadian, and the brand new addition of Colemine Records and Sacred Bones – this forthcoming tour will bring the series’ widest selection of LPs, 45s, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs and other physical ephemera to independent venues, breweries and parking lots across the East Coast and Midwest.
Equal parts pop-up shop, block party and roadside fruit stand, Paved Paradise will debut its tented wonderland in Atlanta, Cincinnati and Washington, DC and for the very first time this fall, in between return appearances to Nashville, Asheville, Durham, Richmond, Pittsburgh, and Detroit’s Third Man Records.
