Hey, I'm Stepha, and hi, I'm Ben. Here is our bio, much love <3 -

Stepha is an Afro-Indigenous artist from the A Ni Sa Ho Ni (Blue/Medicine) clan of the Cherokee and Arapaho ancestry.

"We are striving to bring a stronger and louder Native voice and presence to the music industry." - Stepha

Uruguay is on their way to becoming an undeniable force in the realm of anti-pop. Taking a grungier approach to the genre with their five singles to date, the group harnesses influences from Radiohead, and narratives like Billie Eilish, Arlo Parks, and Dua Saleh. These inflections have been translated into a vibrant kaleidoscopic of sonic waves through which their organic production and haunting vocals leave a lasting impression.

The masterful Course In Fable, the songwriter’s fifth solo effort, draws from the deep well of that city’s fertile 1990s scene, when bands like Tortoise, The Sea and Cake and Gastr del Sol were reshaping the underground, mixing and matching indie rock, jazz, prog and beyond.

string(924) "Alt-country soul from the heart of Appalachia in Russell County, VA. 49 Winchester delivers the poetically straightforward songs of singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson in a soulful electric live show. Rock & roll with roots planted firmly in the traditions of mountain music. Since making their start in the months after high school in late 2013, the band has made a name for themselves as warriors of the road, self releasing three studio albums and commanding audiences far & wide. “When you listen to Isaac Gibson’s evocative voice, it’s hard to imagine him in any other job. Not to say that he wouldn’t be a good actuary, but you realize that’s not where his real talent lies. His voice is filled with the ache that has fueled countless songs, and it was made to fill dark honky tonks where people want to dance. Beyond that, he has a way of telling a story that makes you pay attention to every word.”

Crab mentality, also known as crab theory, crabs in a bucket mentality, is a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you". The metaphor is derived from a pattern of behavior noted in crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. For too long the DMV has been trapped in this state of mind. You  look around and see so many amazing creatives and artists but we haven't fully unified. We want to flip this narrative. We know we can use our influence to help the cause as much as possible so we’ve teamed up to bring you a monthly showcase / party to celebrate DMV creatives of all kinds. Our first installment of "Crabs In Bucket" was on Thursday August 26th and was a huge success with nearly 200 tickets sold and a packed out crowd. This is a showcase and party of course.

For the next iteration of crabs in a bucket, we’ve tapped the following artists: Chaz French, Awthentik, Lust Nite, Ace Ono, and E1even with a tentative date of November 18th. Songbyrd Music House is the ideal location for this event and we hope that we can continue this relationship for a long time to come.

The San Francisco trio of Adam Abildgaard, Nick Duffy, and Ted Davis have built a loyal following and constant buzz over the last several years, with the 2019 EP ‘Mood Ring’ standing as their most kaleidoscopic work to date. Merging the quintessential melodies of pop's past with contemporary touches to forge something truly unique, Hot Flash Heat Wave is just starting to create their own sonic world.
Last year's EP launched the group into a realm entirely different from their previous catalogue. It is their truest-to-heart release yet, synthesizing a wide range of influences encompassing My Bloody Valentine, Frank Ocean, New Order, and Toro y Moi into something that sounds new and refreshing. Mood Ring’s lead single "Glo Ride" bounces with a slight R&B tilt against a dark, trippy atmosphere, while "Sky So Blue" finds the band spiralling into full-on psychedelia, complete with layers of spell-casting keyboards and a wonderfully zonked-out breakdown.
And the future only seems brighter from here: with September’s single ‘Grudge’ teasing a 2021 LP, Hot Flash Heat Wave is preparing for the next step up the staircase in their colorful sonic journey, with determination to elevate their craft in the process.
